My name is Jan and I write and visit inmates in the state of Texas. I have earned my certificate of ministry from the Foursquare Church. My passion is prison ministry and the people involved in prison ministry are some of the most loving, dedicated people I've ever met! One of the things I like to encourage in my prison penpals is to pursue their talents. I encourage them to believe what God says about them. I speak over them daily and it is what I call "The Joseph Prayer." I believe that the Lord has always been with them, even before the beginning of time. That He will never leave them nor forsake them, that they are carved in the palm of His hand. I believe that they have incredible favor from God, favor that goes before them like a beacon of light opening up doors that have been previously been closed, setting up divine encounters with people, places, events, timings, and information. I believe that His blessing is upon their head so powerfully that others around them see it and are blessed because of them. I pray that the Lord will continue to hone and perfect their talents and giftings, that one day they will be a springboard for their ministry and career. I know that he is causing them to increase in integrity, Godly character and obedience daily, because of this He is increasing their responsibility also. I believe the Lord is causing them to rise to the highest level possible within their prison units and that everyone around them trusts them explicitly. I tell them that once they make a commitment to make Jesus Lord of their lives their destiny no longer resides in man's hands but in the hands of their redeemer.
